Our goal here is to promote a mindset.
It's essential to us that you get everything you can out of our shirts. Being a small company, we don't yet have the ability to use the completely recycled fabrics that we envision, but we can start small. We are trying to encourage conscious use, with a focus on longevity and care. If you purchase our products with the 'wear it for life' mentality we'll consider ourselves that much closer to our universal goal.
Use, abuse, wear it out.
The Heavy team was formed over a mutual concern for the ease at which our friends and family were buying new clothes. Too many people we know were adding to their wardrobe without considering the amount of clothing they already owned. Our answer to this was a conscious, minimalist, 'wear it out' mentality. Our hope is that our customers really wear our shirts, until they're worn through, and then if possible, upcycle.
If you're not wearing it, give it to someone who will.
The tears and rips, stains and fades that clothes accumulate over time are a collection of stories. For us, this wear and tear isn't a reason to stop wearing, or throw away. If you fall out of love with your Heavy shirt please don't throw it out, instead donate it or get creative with new uses.
